About the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Government of Hungary. Its core mission is to increase the number of international students studying in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract talented students from around the world. The programme is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements concluded between the Ministry responsible for education in Hungary and the corresponding authorities of the partner countries or territories, or between participating institutions.Each year, thousands of students worldwide apply for higher education studies in Hungary under this scheme. The number of applicants and the range of available scholarship opportunities have been steadily increasing since the programme’s inception. The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme is administered and coordinated by the Tempus Public Foundation.
